What's New at CAS
Hens Go Home
On Friday three hens -- a broiler, a Dominique, and a bantum -- arrived from Brooklyn Animal Care and Control. Happily, they were quickly adopted by our favorite chicken lady, Anna Chapman, and are already living in chicken paradise!

Painting Party Reminder
Our next painting and clean up day is Saturday, Sept 6th, 10-5. If you'd like to help, please RSVP to the office at 845-336-8447 no later than Sept 1st. We'll be providing a delicious Garden St. Cafe lunch and don't want to short change hungry volunteers!
Live From Saugerties... It's Sanctuary Night!!
Now on YouTube

For all of our beloved volunteers who were unable to attend SAnctuary Night Live (and for those of you who don't volunteer, but might if you only knew how much fun hard work can be), some video clips have been posted to YouTube. Thanks to SNL writer Paula Pell and staffer Walt Batycki for all the laughs and for an evening we'll always remember.
County Legislator to Head SPCA

Brian ShapiroCongratulations to Brian Shapiro, an Ulster County Legislator from Woodstock, who'll be taking on the Directorship of the Ulster County SPCA. We're thrilled to have someone with a long record of commitment to animals in that position, and look forward to working with him to protect needy farm animals in Ulster County.

Hazelnut Returns
Hazelnut, a lovely 8-year old Thoroughbred mare, has returned from her summer foster home and is seeking a forever family. This 15H light chestnut beauty needs the gentle touch of an experienced rider. If you think Hazelnut may be the horse for you, please fill out an adoption application.
