Casey, a paint gelding, was let loose in a New Paltz, NY, junk yard. He was thin, anemic, and covered in ticks when CAS rescued him. Despite numerous age-related health challenges, Casey still enjoys his time in the pasture with his pal Beyond, his special “senior” meals, and the attention lavished on him by staff, volunteers, and visitors. We call him our “starter horse” because he is the first horse we introduce people to who have no horse experience, or even a fear of horses. He is gentle, loving, and calm. You could have a party under his belly and he wouldn’t flinch.
