As the runt of the litter who was not thriving, Franklin was put on the “dead pile.” A concerned neighbor found the tiny piglet, just five pounds, still alive, and brought him to CAS. Franklin had a rather lonely life for a while, as he was not accepted by other pigs. But after he spent the summer away with a misfit cow and a misfit horse at our director’s “Animal Camp,” he returned a far more relaxed, confident pig who was almost immediately accepted by Nadine and Peggy Sue.
