Freedom is an old thoroughbred gelding who was rescued in 2004 with 21 other equines, including miniature horses and donkeys, from a hoarder with seven prior arrests for animal cruelty going back to the 1970s. On the property was a barrel of cat carcasses, a dog hanging by its collar from the ceiling of an abandoned building, and three dead llamas. Freedom is a no-nonsense boy who is a little aloof. He’d make a wonderful companion for another quiet horse.
