Amos and Jesse were part of a dramatic rescue of 207 animals from the Catskill Game Farm by a coalition of animal advocates when the Game Farm closed its doors in 2006. While we were thrilled to save so many, most of the animals were purchased by “canned hunt” operators. Jesse and Amos were small calves when they came to Catskill years ago. Despite his horns, Amos is a gentle, deeply affectionate boy, while best friend Jesse, a little more rambunctious, enjoys chasing after work vehicles when animal care staff go in to clean their field! You can read more about both of these boys in founder Kathy Stevens’ second book, Animal Camp.
