Catskill Animal Sanctuary is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley in Saugerties, New York, just minutes from the New York State Thruway (I-87). Whether you’re visiting from Albany, New York City, or elsewhere in the Northeast, getting here is easy and scenic!

Directions From Albany

Approximately 45 min

1. Take I-87 South (New York State Thruway) toward New York City.
2. Take Exit 20 – Saugerties.
3. After the toll, turn right onto Route 212 West.
4. In approximately 1.5 miles, turn left onto Old Stage Road.
5. Follow Old Stage Road for about 1 mile.
6. Catskill Animal Sanctuary will be on your right at 316 Old Stage Road.

Public Transportation:

Amtrak service is available to Albany–Rensselaer Station and Rhinecliff–Kingston Station, with taxi or rideshare service available to the Sanctuary.

Directions From NYC

Approximately 2 hours

1. Take I-87 North (New York State Thruway) toward Albany.
2. Take Exit 20 – Saugerties.
3. Follow directions 3-6 above.

Public Transportation:

Amtrak services are available from NYC to the Rhinecliff–Kingston Station. From there, it’s approximately a 25-minute taxi or rideshare to Catskill Animal Sanctuary in Saugerties.

Trailways buses depart from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Saugerties, Kingston, or Woodstock. From the bus stop, a short taxi or rideshare can bring you to 316 Old Stage Road.
