“Perhaps there is a language which is not made of words and everything in the world understands it.” – Frances Hodgson Burnett
Have you ever been kissed by a cow, or rubbed a pig’s belly as she stretched and grunted with joy? If your answer is “no,” it’s time for a visit — and, if it’s yes, it’s time for a repeat!
We are open to the public on weekends from April through November. Choose a 90-minute tour led by an engaging guide, an hour-long kid-friendly tour (April through October only), or stroll with a Day Pass. We’re also open year-round, seven days a week, to our members, guests of The Homestead, and groups of 10 or more.
No matter which option you choose, you’ll experience the animals as delightful, quirky and, sometimes, larger-than-life individuals. Hear their stories of rescue and recovery, and learn about the power of your personal choices to improve the lives of billions just like them.
300 Remarkable Individuals
More than 300 animals are lucky enough to call Catskill Animal Sanctuary home — and enrich the lives of all who meet them.
Visit, Learn and Fall in Love!
We welcome the public on weekends between April and November. Meet the free-ranging “Underfoot Family,” delight in dozens of others eager to connect, and sample delicious vegan food at Chef Sara’s tastings. You’ll leave with a full heart and a full belly!
Member and Group Tours 12 Months a Year
Members and groups of 10 or more enjoy the privilege of year-round tours seven days a week. Experience the tranquility and intimacy of visiting on a weekday (even, weather permitting, in the winter). The “Underfoot Family,” our free rangers, can’t wait to welcome you!
Since You’re Here, Why Not Stay a While?
If you’re making the trip, consider staying at our 200-year-old, newly renovated farmhouse, The Homestead. Choose from four rooms, including one suite, enjoy a delicious and generous breakfast, and stroll down the hill to the picturesque Sanctuary grounds.
