Stewart

Hair Sheep
Birthdate: est. 1/1/2016

Stewart (sometimes called Stewie) is a clever, playful sheep with a huge heart. Famous for teaching other sheep the “paw the human who doesn’t give you enough attention” trick, he’s always finding ways to make us laugh! Stewart also has a knack for remembering people even after long absences, greeting them like old friends. With his charm and friendliness, Stewie brings joy to everyone he meets. Sponsoring Stewie means supporting a sheep who always takes the opportunity to showcase the power and importance of friendship across all species.

Stewart was rescued in November 2016 from a hoarding and neglect case in Westport, Massachusetts. Many of his herdmates were pregnant upon arriving to CAS and soon after gave birth to several future Sanctuary residents (such as Davey and Ferguson). From this, Stewart quickly took on a “paternal” role in his herd. Stewie’s since transformed entirely from a neglected and traumatized sheep into a playful, clever, and affectionate companion!
