Bernadette

Wooly Ewe (Sheep)
Birthdate: est. 8/15/2024

When Bernadette first arrived at CAS, she was understandably frightened of both humans and other animals. With patience and time, she’s started greeting caregivers with curiosity (and sometimes even little kisses)! From day one, Bernadette made it clear she longed for companionship, calling out to nearby sheep until she was introduced to her new herd mates, Brenda Jeremiah, and Abram. While she is still growing into her confidence, Bernadette is energetic, vocal, and affectionate, and she’s ready to build lasting bonds with sponsors who’ll be part of her healing journey!

One morning in July 2025, CAS began receiving multiple calls about a lone sheep wandering nearby. Later that day, she appeared on our property horribly frightened, bolting briefly into the woods before reemerging again. Our animal caregivers gently guided her to safety. With no identification and no one coming forward during the required stray hold, she officially became part of our CAS family. Though her past remains unknown, it’s possible Bernadette was either abandoned or escaped from a facility nearby.
