Seneca

Wooly Ewe (Sheep)
Birthdate: est. 3/8/2017

Seneca is a friendly sheep who enjoys interacting with humans, often amongst the first to approach visitors. She also has quite the notorious reputation for being the Underfoot herd “flirt.” She especially enjoys the attention of the boy sheep in the Underfoot herd, though she gets along well with all her herdmates (including her mom, Lena, who is one of her very best friends!) Sponsoring Seneca supports the life of an incredibly kindhearted and fiercely affectionate sheep who enjoys being a friend to all.

Seneca was born at Catskill Animal Sanctuary to her mother Lena, who was rescued from a massive neglect and hoarding case in Westport, Massachusetts through the ASPCA. Lena endured years of hardship before finding safety at CAS. Today, both Seneca and her mom are happy members of our Underfoot (free-roaming) herd. Fun fact: Seneca was named for the Seneca Falls Convention, the first women’s rights convention in American history, after she was born on International Women’s Day in 2017!
