DONOR ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

REQUIREMENTS

The Donor Engagement Specialist provides essential support within the Development, Communications, and Business Teams of Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Responsibilities are aimed at maintaining, tracking, and cultivating relationships and activities among the Sanctuary’s existing donors and new prospective donors through verbal and written communications, virtual and in-person meetings and events. This is a full-time, professional position.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently manage the donor database, NeonCRM, with updated contact, donation, and membership information.
  • Assist Director of Engagement and Special Events with sponsorship related tasks including communicating with sponsors, cultivating new sponsors, and mailing sponsorship welcome packets/updates.
  • Manage and track the status of campaigns and verbal asks on behalf of major gift fundraising
  • Create donor communications in NeonCRM such as emails, mailings, including management of donation tax and thank you acknowledgement letters (email and printed letters)
  • Communicate directly with donors through email and phone on a regular basis
  • Manage inquiries to the general donorsupport@ email address
  • Run ad hoc reports from report library in NeonCRM database as requested (donor lists, membership lists, etc)
  • Maintain relationships with vendors; assist in managing projects with them as needed.
  • Assist Director of Engagement and Special Events and Donor Relations Manager with planning and execution of internal fundraiser related events/conferences (both virtual and in-person events)
  • Work hand in hand with other Development Team members to develop robust and cohesive campaigns for Sponsorship, Membership, and Events.
  • Work with Donor Relations Manager and Director of Engagement and Special Events to advance and maintain relationships with corporations and implement strategies to increase and deepen corporate business partner relationships.
  • Work with other Development, Communications, and Business Team members to develop our end-of-year fundraising appeal.
  • Work with the Special Events & Outreach Director to plan and execute our annual Goat Games fundraiser using our peer-to-peer virtual platform.
  • Cultivate and thank current and prospective donors through stewardship initiatives, including personal phone calls and handwritten notes.
  • Supervise Development interns (as needed)
  • Provide other administrative help to the Development and Business Teams as needed
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with other members of the overall organization, demonstrating the organization’s Core Values, including Catskill Animal Sanctuary’s mission of vegan living.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to the Catskill Animal Sanctuary mission and vegan living;
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and GSuite systems
  • Experience in CRM software preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with demonstrated capability to write with clarity, enthusiasm, and engagement
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Highly organized
  • Strong desire to connect with and promote our mission, the animals, and their stories
  • Team player with excellent relationship-building skills, listening skills, professional maturity, and sound judgment
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work periodic non-standard office hours on weekends or evenings for special events as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
