Curry dishes are beloved worldwide for their rich blends of aromatic spices, and their flavors vary widely according to geographic location. How lucky we are to have so many delicious options! In this class, join Chef Sara for a culinary tour of vegan curries inspired by the cuisines of India, Thailand, and Japan. She’ll prepare two styles of Indian curry, one spicy and one mild; a rich coconut curry with Thai spices and fresh herbs; and a comforting, mild Japanese vegetable curry with sautéed tofu. She’ll demystify the variances in spices between countries, and empower you to craft your own traditional spice blends at home. In addition to the curries, she’ll also demonstrate how to prepare a delicious accompaniment – a gluten-free Indian flatbread, Akki Roti – right on the stovetop. Join us for a multicultural feast full of flavor and history!
You’ll learn how to make: Vegetable Vindaloo; Tempeh Tikka Masala; Thai Coconut Curry with Chickpeas; Japanese Curry with Kabocha Squash, Potatoes, and Tofu; Akki Roti. (Recipes may contain nuts and/or soy.)
