We have all them: those cherished recipes that are dear to our hearts, but not entirely in line with our wishes to live a vegan lifestyle. We may miss those flavors and the associated memories, but how can we “veganize” recipes based on animal products? Leave it to Chef Sara to show you how! Using some of her own favorite family recipes as examples, she’ll teach you how to effortlessly substitute vegan ingredients for eggs, dairy, and meat in the recipes you love, without sacrificing flavor or texture. Equipped with Sara’s handy lists of food substitutions, you’ll leave class feeling empowered to alter any recipe to suit your needs. Bring your appetites, too, because at the end of class we’ll sit down to a hearty meal inspired by the recipes of Sara’s grandmother, Lucy: Southern “Cheese” Ball and Crackers; “Chicken” and Biscuits; Broccoli, Cauliflower, and “Bacon” Salad; Corn Pudding; and Coconut “Cream” Pie.
