Ferguson the underfoot wether sheep playing at Catskill Animal Sanctuary.

Ferguson

Hair Wether (Sheep)
Birthdate: est. 12/20/2016
Ferguson is a lovable oddball! Likely due to being raised alongside goats, he developed an independent personality that’s quite unusual for a sheep. He greatly prefers human company (and a few close friends) over following the rest of the herd and is usually seen wandering alone. He is always one of the first to greet visitors, enjoys snuggles, and has been known to try to climb into cars when folks are leaving after their visit! Ferguson is a one-of-a-kind sheep, looking for sponsors who celebrate his unique personality here at CAS.

Ferguson was born at CAS in 2016 to a sheep named Cleo, who had recently been rescued from a massive neglect case in Westport, Massachusetts. She arrived already pregnant and in very poor health, causing Ferguson’s birth to be more difficult than usual. After a successful birth, we named Ferguson after the veterinarian who helped deliver him! After Cleo passed in 2020, Ferguson joined our free-roaming Underfoot herd, where he’s thrived ever since.
