Not Your Ordinary “Tour”
We promise one thing: “tours” at Catskill Animal Sanctuary are unlike any you’ve ever experienced. Many of our animals are free rang- they’re free to go wherever they please during the day. So when you drive into our parking lot, be prepared to have a chicken hop in your car, a sheep walk right up to say hello, or a pig saunter by in his relentless quest for food. If you’re lucky, Casey the horse might suggest where you park.
On your tour, you’ll learn the history and mission of CAS, our exciting plans for growth, and some of the lessons we’ve learned from our extraordinary animal friends. Information on agribusiness and its devastating consequences for animals, humans and the planet is shared honestly but with sensitivity to the ages of those on your tour. The pace is leisurely, with plenty of time for questions or enjoying quiet, one-on-one time with the critters.
We — the humans, the horses, the cows, the pigs and the rest of the CAS family — look forward to welcoming you.
Saturday Tours
CAS is open for tours on Saturdays from April through October.
Admission is $10 per person, $5 for seniors and kids under 12, and free for CAS members (don’t forget your membership card!). Groups of 10 or more can email our Program Director at melissa.gates@casanctuary.org to set up a private tour. We regret that we are unable to accommodate large groups during our Saturday tours, but look forward to your visit on another day.
Special Visits For Members & Sponsors
For CAS members and animal sponsors who live out of town, weekday visits can sometimes be arranged. To ensure that someone will be available to help you get the most out of your visit, a minimum of one week’s advance notice is required. Thank you for your understanding!
Please note that because doing so presents many organizational difficulties, we will not be able to admit late arrivals. If you’re coming to CAS for the first time, please allow extra travel time.
