Beatrice

In 2015, we rescued 27 goats from the notorious “backyard butcher” in Newburgh, NY. More than 100 animals were rescued that day; all had lice, a parasite count so high that many were severely anemic, fungal infections, respiratory issues, and a contagious virus known as ORF. Beatrice “Bea” was one of these 27 goats and to this day, still is learning how to trust humans. Though she is very shy and reserved, she is closely bonded to her goat friends, like Jacqueline and her daughters— we often refer to her as “Aunt Bea!”
