In Memoriam: Tucker

Tucker came to live at Catskill Animal Sanctuary in February of 2009 after first living at a petting zoo for a full season. During his time there, a mother and daughter fell in love with Tucker, enjoying every visit with him. However, once the visiting season ended, they were horrified to discover that he would be sent to slaughter, like most baby animals who live temporarily at petting zoos. Tucker found a permanent home with us, and his gentle demeanor earned him the moniker, “3,000-pound puppy dog.”

On September 21st, 2022, Tucker passed away from what we believe was a sudden and unexpected heart attack. We will miss him forever but are comforted to know how many hearts he touched and lives he changed.
