Sanctuary Resolutions for 2019

As Catskill Animal Sanctuary begins a new year, a fresh start, we want to take a moment to honor what we carry with us from the past. We carry the lessons humbly learned. We carry the past year’s losses. We mourn those who succumbed to illness or age or those too far gone to save. We’re strengthened by the small miracles we witness every day, from the happy life of a blind baby goat to the grit and resilience of horses nearing the age of forty.

We march forth into 2019 with a staff who are dedicated, hardworking, kind, and resilient. We dearly wish everyone could have been included in this photo, but alas, baby Leo needed a walk, stalls needed to be mucked, and tractors needed to be driven (and a few folks are photo-shy!)

As the new year begins, we remember above all else, the most important part of our work is to speak with love. Though our mission grows more urgent with each passing day, though we have unpopular truths to tell, though we share stories of heartbreak and loss, we can’t go forward without love. We can’t reach anyone without love. In 2019, we renew our commitment to learn and to grow — and to speak with love, always.
Love spoken here.

  1. One of the greatest gifts of Love is to speak of Truths. And to be human is to expand, not contract, our minds and hearts. Catskill has changed me in the last year. And I pledge to be here when you need support (in whatever way I can manage). Each of you at CAS — every one, please know we see you, we love you, and we wish you all the best in 2019.

  2. For all that you do, for all the lives you touch, for those you save, thank you. Each visit brings me peace and joy. Every day, in your actions and words, you so eloquently teach the language that is love.

  3. Thank you Thank you Thank you for all that you do!!! You are a blessing to Animals and a blessing to me. Peace, Love, and Rescue for 2019♥♥♥

  4. Don’t burn out, burn bright! You may not be able to do all the good the world needs, but the world sure needs all the good that you can do!

  5. May this year be full of BLESSING for you all and THANKING you all for what you all do for this gentle fur ANIMALS. Being vegan for 15 years and saving life is the most emotional and loving thing i have done for them all. so THANK YOU ALL FOR CARING FOR THEM
