chickens from a rescue in 2013Jim Perdue says, “What you think is humane treatment of an animal and what I think is humane treatment of an animal can be different.”

Can it ever.

We think humane treatment is leaving chickens alone to wander freely, hatch their eggs, raise their young, take roost, and enjoy dust baths.

We think humane treatment is realizing chickens have a right to lead their lives peacefully.

We think humane treatment is not exploiting a species for personal profit.

Jim Perdue says his company needs “happier chickens.”

Hey, Jim. You have an open invitation to visit the Sanctuary. We’d love the chance to show you what happy chickens look like. We think you’ll be surprised.
