We warmly invite you and yours to join us for a unique vacationing experience!
Located at the top of Catskill Animal Sanctuary’s 110-acre property, where it has stood since 1813, the Homestead features original wide-plank floors, exposed brick walls, gorgeous fireplaces, and tasteful furnishings.
Three guest rooms and a suite are available. The three guest rooms are named after beloved animal residents and share a common bath. The Rambo Room has a king bed, the Paulie Room has a queen bed, and the Dino Room has a twin bed. The Samson Suite features a kitchenette with refrigerator and stove, a spacious living room, a small queen bedroom, and a private bathroom. (Twin-sized air mattresses are available to accommodate additional guests in the Rambo room or Samson suite.)
Homestead guests receive a complimentary vegan breakfast, a VIP pass to spend time with nearly 300 rescued farmed animals at CAS, and, if you’re with us on a weekend between April-October, a complimentary tour of the Sanctuary.
We also offer guided tours during your stay throughout the year. Tours are individually scheduled with our Homestead manager, Erica Ritter. Please contact Erica at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In accordance with our mission, and out of respect to the animals who live here, the Homestead is strictly vegan and non-smoking. Please do not bring any non-vegan food on Sanctuary property. Thank you for your cooperation.
We offer lovely vegan gift baskets to celebrate your special occasion! You can order a basket when you make your reservation or within two weeks of your stay.
The sanctuary is open to the public on weekends for tours, but guests have the option of joining a tour any day of the week guided by the Homestead manager for only $40 per room.
To reserve a room at the Homestead you must be a CAS member (a local county rule, not ours, we promise!) Luckily, signing up for a membership is easy to do on our website or by calling our business office. If you make a reservation and are not yet a member, you will be charged a membership fee. Not sure of your membership status? Give us a call at 845-336-8447 x202, M-F 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Note: CAS membership is included in animal sponsorships.
Well-behaved dogs who are not aggressive towards people or animals, and who can be left in your room without excessive barking, are welcome at an additional fee of $20/dog/night. A maximum of 2 dogs per room can be accommodated. In fairness to our animal friends, dogs are not allowed beyond the Homestead grounds; Homestead guests must visit our rescued animals without them.
