Creamy Tahini Sauce
By Chef Linda
Creamy Tahini Sauce is a luscious and healthy accompaniment to a variety of foods. Drizzle it on falafel, salad, or vegetables like Garlic Roasted Broccoli. Tahini is made from ground sesame seeds. (Tahini can be found in grocery stores with the nut butters.) Sesame seeds are a wonderful source of plant-based calcium. In fact, just a quarter cup of sesame seeds provides more calcium than a whole cup of milk. Sesame seeds can also help lower cholesterol and improve heart health. This versatile, healthy and flavorful sauce will become an indispensable staple served with your meals once you see how easily it can be made.Ingredients
½ cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup Water to thin
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp kosher salt
Directions
1
Whisk together all the ingredients, and add more water if necessary, by the tablespoon, to achieve desired consistency. Result should be thin enough to drizzle from a spoon.
